This is from a hike up towards McHugh Peak. The view was spectacular. You can see Anchorage, McKinley (barely), and the Chugach mountains. The trail was well marked and used. Some places are steep with lots of loose rock so you need to have sure footing and good traction. Usually the trail is pretty quite but this was a holiday weekend so we saw about 6 other small groups on the trail. The worst part about the tail is the parking. Talking with someone from one of the groups that lives near the trailhead they said the parking lot was usually full. There is only parking for about six cars, this is an advantage and disadvantage. It's hard to find parking but, you will see less people on the trail. Even if you do not make it to the peak the view is well worth it.
